Establishing a Bird-Friendly Habitat
Charley Winterbauer, President of the Cape Fear Audubon Society, maintains that our migratory land birds are declining at an average rate of 1% per year due to habitat loss. On Feb. 14 at 11 AM at the Museum of Coastal Carolina, Mr. Winterbauer will discuss how you can help reverse this alarming trend by establishing a bird-friendly habitat in your own back yard. It's easy to do, you will use less water, it will be easy to maintain, and it will cause less pollution. The Cape Fear Audubon Society is the local chapter of Audubon NC. It serves Southeastern NC and is dedicated to preserving the Cape Fear area's wealth of habitat biodiversity by educating people and helping them connect to nature.
