DESCRIPTION:This course will use the same format and resources as described in Coastal Carolina Heritage but will focus exclusively on the six townships of Brunswick County--their unique stories\, historical sites\, architecture\, artifacts and natural environment. How did Bolivia get its name? Where is Makotoka? What is a dog-trot house? Who is Joe Baldwin? Where are the oldest buildings in the county? What are the unique stories of some early churches? Three of the 8 classes will include an on-site visits to cover three distinct regions of Brunswick county. This class counts towards the Heritage Guide Certificate Pathway.
