Circle Friday\, March 24\, on your calendars and join us as we welcome back our friends\, musicians and crowd-pleasers\, The KENNEDYS!\n\n\n\n \nThe Kennedys began performing together in 1992\, shortly after they met. Maura\, born and raised in Syracuse\, N.Y.\, was living in Austin\, Texas at the time\, while Pete\, born and raised in Washington\, D.C.\, was on the road with Nanci Griffith. Maura\, a former computer programmer\, moved to Austin in 1989 to be a full-time musician. \n\n \n\nThe pair's musical influences are quite eclectic: Buddy Holly\, the Everly Brothers\, the Beatles and the Byrds\, but also jazz\, blues and world music. Pete Kennedy'sbackground includes a series of legendary shows with Kate Wolf in the early 1980s\, and he can be heard playing slide guitar on Griffith's Grammy-winning album Other Voices\, Other Rooms. He has won 20 Washington-Area Music Awards and was named Artist of the Year in 1992.
