DESCRIPTION:CROP Hunger Walk / Praise in the Park\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nThe South Brunswick Interchurch Council ( SBIC) Food Pantry will partner with the Greater Shallotte Ministerial Association to hold a CROP Walk / Praise in the Park Event on Nov. 4 in and around Mulberry Park in Shallotte. This will include the 27th annual Crop Hunger Walk\, information sharing by participating churches\, music and free snacks.  ALL are Welcome!\n\n \n\nThis year\, besides the annual 3 mile WALK ( 5K )\, we have a 1 mile walk "WALK in the Park " routed only through Mulberry Park for those who can't do the entire 3 mile walk. Registration for both WALKS begins at 1:30pm. The WALKS start about 2:15pm in Mulberry Park.  \n\n \n\nPraise in the Park events will commence after the 5K CROP Walk and end about 5 PM.\n\n \n\nThe CROP Walk is a fundraiser for the Church World Service ( CWS) in concert with SBIC Food Pantry.  Last year 120 walkers generated $11\,473.  $4486 was returned to SBIC.  We are asking that a greater percentage of funds be returned to Brunswick County as they did in 2016 for Hurricane Matthew relief efforts.  Since 1991\, over $55\,000 Walk money has gone to SBIC Food Pantry.\n\n \n\nWalkers are encouraged to bring a canned food item or a jar of peanut butter for the food pantry distribution.\n\n \n\nFor further information and registration forms go to SBICNC.org.
