DESCRIPTION:The 2nd Annual Sunset Beach Paddle Fest comes to the Sunset Beach Waterfront Park\, September 24th from 9:00am to 5:00pm.\n\n\n\nThe Sunset Beach Paddle Fest is the only festival and competitive paddle event on the coast of North Carolina. \n\nThis year's paddleboard and kayak competitions include an elite 9.5-mile course\, 5.5-mile open course and a 1.9-mile fun paddle. New to the festival activities is a kayak and paddleboard fishing tournament with cash prizes.\n\n\n\nThe family friendly event features over 50 artisans and vendors\, children's games\, activities\, as well as a pet costume contest\, Gilligan's Island look-alike contest\, limbo competition and pie baking contest. A portion of contest proceeds are to benefit local charities\, including Paws-Ability\, Brunswick County Homeless Coalition and Sunset Beach Turtle Watch. \n\n\n\nThere will be lots of great food available at this year's festival\, including seafood prepared by Twin Lakes Seafood Restaurant and Backstreet Caf .\n\n\n\nThe festival's music is headlined by Randy McQuay Trio beginning at 3:00pm with opening performer and local favorite Ashton Stanley\, beginning at 12:30pm.\n\n\n\nThis year's island and beach theme will inspire visitors to enter the Gilligan's Island look-alike contest and limbo contest. \n\nThe popular Craft Beer Garden will be serving several craft beers from North Carolina's Blind Squirrel Brewery. \n\n\n\nFree admission\, with parking and shuttle service provided by Sea Trail Resort & Conference Center.\n\n\n\nThe festival is held at the Sunset Beach Waterfront Park\, located at 206 Sunset Boulevard N.\, Sunset Beach\, NC 28468.\n\nFor more information and schedule details visit www.sunsetbeachpaddlefest.com.
