Join us for an informational meeting for those interested in being part of a Brunswick County chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) has been set for 6:00pm Wednesday, December 16 in the meeting room of BEMC. Craig Lloyd, state executive director for MADD North Carolina, will give a presentation about MADD, its services and programs, and how people in Brunswick County can become involved. The effort to start a Brunswick County chapter is being spearheaded by Stacey Manning, managing editor of the Brunswick Beacon. Manning's mother was killed in Kentucky in 2006 after her vehicle was struck head-on by a college student who had been drinking and fell asleep behind the wheel.
