Coastal Carolina Heritage: Hisstorical sites and architecture of Brunswick County Townships

This course will use the same format and resources as described in Coastal Carolina Heritage but will focus exclusively on the six townships of Brunswick County--their unique stories, historical sites, architecture, artifacts and natural environment. How did Bolivia get its name? Where is Makotoka? What is a dog-trot house? Who is Joe Baldwin? Where are the oldest buildings in the county? What are the unique stories of some early churches? Three of the 8 classes will include an on-site visits to cover three distinct regions of Brunswick county. This class counts towards the Heritage Guide Certificate Pathway.
