Ekphrastic Art Workshop 2023

An ekphrastic poem is a vivid description of a scene or, more commonly, a work of art. Through the imaginative act of narrating and reflecting on the “action” of a painting or sculpture, the poet may amplify and expand its meaning.
 

And oppositely, the act of creating a visual artwork can contribute to the creation of poetry. Let’s do both in an afternoon of art discovery & fun. The class of 30 will be split into 3 groups of 10 each. Each will spend an hour and a half in poetry, 1.5 hours in music/movement then another hour and a half in painting.
