Rourk Branch Library will be running a Teen Comic Book Camp titled 'How to Make Comics: 101'. Teens and High Schoolers will learn the process of comic book creation from a professional Comic Book Creator. The 5 day program will run from Monday, June 1st, to Friday, June 5th 2026. For two hours each day the camp will go over the five standard steps professionals use in the industry to create short comic book, including writing, drawing, inking, coloring, and lettering.
Participants will learn visual storytelling, creative problem-solving, collaboration, and project planning while producing an original short comic. The program supports arts education, literacy, and youth engagement by providing hands-on creative instruction in an accessible community space, empowering teens with practical skills and confidence in self-expression. By completing the program, teens will strengthen communication, critical thinking, and social skills that build meaningful engagement through this creative endeavor.
Registration is required and seats are limited so contact the Shallotte City Library, Rourk Branch, for your teen's seat today.
